About Showmen’s Guild of Australasia

Showmen’s Guild of Australasia is a prestigious event management association based in Yatala, Brisbane, representing over 450 operators nationwide. Known for delivering Australia’s best rides and attractions, the Guild supports event organizers by providing elite amusement professionals for large-scale shows, festivals, and fairs. To manage their expanding operations and ensure safety compliance across the board, the Guild turned to Metrix for a digital transformation.

Challenges

As a national-scale operation with hundreds of operators across multiple simultaneous events, Showmen’s Guild faced pressing digital and operational challenges:

Approach

Metrix drew from deep domain expertise in the amusement and entertainment industry to design a purpose-built application that streamlined daily operations, digitized paperwork, and ensured operator safety across all events.

Strategy & Execution

The project focused on creating a scalable, intuitive system that could simplify the complex and fast-paced nature of national event coordination:

  • Custom Event Management Portal – Designed and developed a centralized digital platform where operators could easily sign on, access technical manuals, and view rosters.

  • Health & Safety Module – Included real-time incident reporting, hazard logs, and training acknowledgement forms to improve safety compliance across the Guild.

  • Digital Documentation Repository – Created a hub for equipment setup instructions, safety guides, and operator certifications — accessible on any device.

  • Operator Dashboard – Enabled management to track operator attendance, status, and compliance at a glance, reducing admin overhead and boosting accountability.

  • Mobile-Friendly Design – Ensured ride operators and supervisors could use the system on-the-go, whether on-site or in transit.
